What would it look like to take

to our Downtown Merchants and Businesses?

LET’S FIND OUT!

A huge part of "Relaxing In the Son" ourselves is sharing with others! Let take baked goods, prayer requests and prayer request boxes to our businesses downtown and let them know that in these hard economic times, First United Methodist Church is praying for them and their customers!

HERE’S THE PLAN:

Step 1: From July 21 – August 10 bring BROWNIE AND COOKIE BOX MIXES,

1 gallon non-freezer bags and shoe boxes to worship or to the office.

Step 2: August 10 take a Box Mix kit (includes 1 box mix; three plates and a

gallon Bag). Bake the brownies/cookies and distribute them (6 a plate) onto the plates and bring them to the church office no later than noon (12:00!!!) on Wednesday, August 13!

Step 3: THE BIG DAY!!!!! Wednesday (August 13) from 2pm – 4pm.

Those of you who are not working outside the home; who are teens

and children or who can get off work! Meet in the church office area!

We are going to deliver baked goods, prayer requests and prayer

boxes to our Merchants and Business people on New York,

Pennsylvania and Massachusetts.

NOW WHY ARE WE DOING THIS??

The Apostle Paul writes to the dispersed Christians at Rome: Be devoted to one another in LOVE. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer and share with God’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality. (12:10-13) …

IN OTHER WORDS, WE ARE BEING THE CHURCH TO OUR COMMUNITY!
